Chuck: vs. The Truth
October 7, 2014 3:57 PM - Season 1, Episode 8 - Subscribe

Chuck meets a pretty girl with an unusual name, which causes an internal conflict. At the same time, his sister falls prey to someone the government seeks to apprehend.

I really enjoyed this episode. The set up took a while, but the real meat and bones of this episode was when Chuck, Sarah and Casey were all affected by the Sodium Pentathol/poison and started telling the truth to one another, leading to this excellent exchange between Chuck and Casey.
Casey: Right, now take [the antidote], or I'll force it down your throat!
Chuck: Alright. I'll pretend to take it, then run like hell to my sister, and make her take it.
Casey: If you do that, I'll give chase, put a gun to your head and threaten to pull the trigger!
Chuck: Would you really shoot me?
Casey: No.
Chuck: Yeah, don't waste a bullet, we're already dead!
I also enjoyed how Chuck's spy-life and real life collided this week, especially when he was faced with what to do when a woman showed real interest in being his girlfriend, while obviously needing to maintain the cover that he's dating Sarah.

And then the ending, where Tang walked into the Home Theatre room, right in the middle of a debriefing! Casey handled it (by sending Tang to Burbank) and it looks like the Assistant Manager position is available again... but I wonder if this is the last we'll see of Tang...

Hi Effigy! I too am watching Chuck for the first time. I watched episode 9 today so we're pretty much in step. I really enjoyed ep 8 too and I'll be interested to see what you think of 9.
