Interest in House (series with Hugh Laurie)?

Medical drama follows Dr. House, a brilliant but troubled diagnostician

I'm kinda surprised there are no posts about this show here. I can't imagine I'm the only fan on metafilter.

I'm a fan of House too, and I would definitely be interested in discussing it on Fanfare. I remember searching for House on Fanfare at some point, and being surprised there was no discussions.

Yeah I'm kinda surprised myself when I found there were no posts. But often with shows that ended before Fanfare, it takes a while before people get around posting about it because we're all bound up in the stuff that's just getting released.

In my experience the episodes don't stand up to rewatch, especially the earlier ones. Might want to start with later seasons and work backwards.

It's been a while since I did a re-watch, but I remember enjoying the earlier seasons on my last re-watch. It was the last couple seasons where I felt like the show went off the rails, although I'm not sure that I've ever gotten around to re-watching S6 and S7, so that's mainly a first watch impression.

There are a ton of episodes per season. I wonder if it would be better just to start with a single season 1 post, rather than doing it episode by episode? That also might be a good way to gauge interest.

Alternatively, we could do single episode posts for each season premiere and finale, and then a catch all post for the rest of the season.

I enjoyed House when it was on, but I'm not sure I'd be interested in rewatching it. As I recall, the episodes (especially earlier seasons) tended to be pretty formulaic. There's a reason robocop is bleeding's House script is highly-favorited and got memeified all over the internet. (Although r.i.b. missed the part where any two of Chase, Foreman, and Cameron have to break into the patient's home to discover the mouse problem.)
