The Princess Switch (2018)

One week before Christmas, Margaret [Vanessa Hudgens], the gorgeous Duchess of Montenaro, switches places with Stacy [Vanessa Hudgens], a "commoner" from Chicago, who looks exactly like her. With the assistance of a magical Santa's helper, Margaret falls in love with Stacy's handsome co-worker [Nick Sagar], while Stacy falls in love with Margaret's fiance, the dashing Prince [Sam Palladio]. A Netflix Original.

Linda Holmes:
Now, if you think that romances may develop both between Margaret and Kevin and between Stacy and the prince while both women are lying about who they are, you have seen movies before and should high-five yourself. If you think both women will have to come clean and make things right somehow, you should high-five yourself twice and also eat a cookie shaped like a hand high-fiving you, so satisfied should you be. But if you're looking to settle in on a weekend with something that won't worry your spirit, this movie is a perfectly nice way to settle in, predictable though it may be.
Constance Grady - Netflix’s The Princess Switch is the best kind of dumb, cozy Christmas movie

Emily Tannenbaum:
irst things first, The Princess Switch is a delight. If you told me last year that I would thoroughly enjoy—nay, crave—another Parent Trap-like movie but starring Vanessa Hudgens as both an austere Duchess of some vaguely British-ish country and an uptight know-it-all from Chicago (who bakes!), I would have told you exactly what to do with your Christmas pastries. Boy, what a difference 2018 made.

Jokes aside, The Princess Switch fits perfectly into the category of mindless, easy viewing. The backdrops of downtown Chicago and the fictional country of Belgravia are picture-perfect. Don't worry about the fact that those two very different locations look strikingly similar!

I figured this was too pithy for an entire club post, but I saw on Netflix yesterday that there's also a new Christmas Prince movie.

I enjoyed it. Fluffy and fun. Also the bakery at the beginning I swear is the the same bakery from Pumpkin Pie Wars.
