AWOL forces Livvie to reveal the location of the hidden mansion, forcing a standoff at Chez Runaways. Something has to be done about Gert and Old Lace.
AV Club: Runaways swings and misses with a big standoff
"Well, we have eaten a lot of literal garbage..." -Chase
"My dad said playing till 4 a.m. was a waste of time." -Alex
"I guess I rocked his world." -Molly
The possessed parents....EEEEEEEEEK, especially New Stacey, with New More Cheerful Catherine as a runner-up (her giggle at the juicy gossip...) I'm not telling New Victor too well apart from Old Victor except New Victor likes to have sex in the lab.
Alex is my least favorite Runaway. Dude. Sigh.
Chase kinda returns the favor in bringing Gert to her parents. See, what did I say about the drone and the dinosaur?

Agree that new Victor is pretty similar to old Victor, except for the "let's just have sex in this lab I obsessively keep clean" part.
I figured it was the drone we saw previously that made Old Lace sick, ergo Gert, but I guess the kids wouldn't have realized that any sooner.
Alex name-drops Fortnite here, but I remember the game that he was playing a lot with Amy in the first season was something else.
It's amusing to me how easily AWOL is gaming everybody because they're all rich and entitled, and the ones who are poor and desperate see through it but are helpless. Like he truly just stepped in from a different dimension of TV and is just taking everyone along for the ride.

I am seeing this three years later, but I am surprised neither Fanfare nor the AV Club takes note of the slyest MCU nod yet: when Nico is under the influence of the staff for a moment, she has the crackly purple eye orbits of Kaecilus and the other Zealots from Doctor Strange.
