Ivan Fyodorovich, the murder of the brothers de Witt is such a dramatic episode from our Dutch history. When I walk past our parliament, where it happened, it's hard to imagine that citizens would do such a thing.
Now I need to see that tv show!

This episode! I was expecting gruesome from the moment we see Villanelle see The Corpses of the De Witt Brothers (thank you for the names/links, Ivan!) but I still had to cover my eyes when the knife came out.

And Eve. Oh, Eve. A commenter in a previous episode's thread remarked that every time Niko reaches out a hand to her, metaphorically, she turns away. We saw that here, in the scene in the hallway of their home where she literally turns away. But I also thought it was interesting that the scene seemed to reveal how little he knows Eve, or at least how little Eve thinks he knows her. Niko's comment about her being nice, and a good person--and the look she gives him, you can practically hear the voice in her head saying, "I am not nice. I stabbed someone. You have no idea who I am." and then smoking cigarettes, almost kissing Hugo. They all seem like Eve hell-bent on either showing how not-nice she is...whether to be more like Villanelle, or more like herself, who knows.

Jodie Comer in the dark green jacket showing us all of Villanelle's impotent rage and jealousy is a force.

I'm a little sad that the Ghost was caught so easily. I liked seeing her incredibly stealthy kills.

Love that Zoƫ Wanamaker showed up as Carolyn's boss, and her mention of Torture Garden! Really enjoyed this episode.

She was great, wasn't she?

Niko's comment about her being nice, and a good person--and the look she gives him, you can practically hear the voice in her head saying, "I am not nice. I stabbed someone. You have no idea who I am."

And she doesn't want to be nice. She doesn't want to be the woman that Niko sees her as or the woman she is with him, she wants to be the woman Villanelle sees her as, and the woman she is when she's hunting Villanelle.

I don't think it is about sex for Eve, like she said to Hugo. I think she just gets an adrenaline rush from...living up to her potential. Of course, Villanelle has apparently lived entirely up to her potential as a killer and so that's all she is and all she can do now. Now she's butting up against her limits and it just seems boring and frustrating for her.

I actually did feel bad for Villanelle eventually, when she woke up all vomit-y in her jacket she just seemed so trapped. By her own capacities (or lack thereof) more than by the organization she works for even. She can't even go have a fun night out without nearly murdering a girl.

I thought that Eve seemed a bit naive in this episode but maybe that's just because she's continuing to go through an awakening, and there's bound to be a adolescent aspect to that.

Caroline continues to be fascinating, I am intrigued by Kenny because of his relationship with Caroline, Hugo is every boring and gross bro and will probably be killed in some gruesome way, and the pregnant lady still seems like a stranger.

WTF is up with Konstantin?

Also, are we certain that's really the Ghost? I was playing solitaire and maybe missed something.

I assumed she must be, because of her reaction to being apprehended - she didn't seem even slightly surprised.

I can't believe they'd set up the Ghost's mystery so carefully only to have the team capture her in such a perfunctory way. There's a twist coming there, I'm sure.
