The Mindy Project: We Need to Talk About Annette
November 15, 2014 7:06 AM - Season 3, Episode 7 - Subscribe

On this very special* episode of The Mindy Project, Danny re-evaluates his need to follow the rules all the time, and Peter takes a good hard look at what it means to be a professional doctor.

* It's not really one of those "special episodes."

Yeah, what's all this with Danny's Mom and her friend? We need more Morgan and less Mom. Most sitcoms tend to be least successful when they move outside the boundaries of the situation that brings them all together - in this case, the medical practice. But I liked Peter's story arc this week and it's nice to be reminded that the characters actually have a day job in between all their antics.

I think it's an attempt to add more conflict between Mindy and Danny, as they become a couple who supports each-other despite differences.

I cannot think about Top Gun the same way since watching this.
Danny: Hey, Goose, it's Maverick. Wanna have some sex tonight?
Mindy: Don't call me Goose!
Just the way Danny was so clearly excited about being Maverick, and excited about having sex. It still kills me.

I like Mom and her friend - adding more women to the show is a good move IMO. The old-lady Catholic stuff works for me: I used to know people who would inflict "The Passion of the Christ" upon themselves regularly.

I love how Peter is growing up, too.
