Fear the Walking Dead: The End of Everything
July 7, 2019 12:32 PM - Season 5, Episode 5 - Subscribe

Althea chases a story with dogged determination, putting the mission, and her life in danger.

A standalone episode for Althea, filling in the gap between her abduction by the helmeted soldier (who she nicknames Happy) and her rejoining the Morgan and Alicia part of the group (freshly off gathering the children of the camp).

While it doesn't get sexy enough for the Forbes recapper, Althea and Isabel (her real name) end up sharing a moment over beers, and although operational security is an all-consuming concern for Isabel and her people, she declines to kill Althea, who in turn doesn't tell Morgan and crew what really went down.

The helicopter-people-obsessed TV Guide recap says it has been "detrimental for the long-term health of Fear the Walking Dead to make it a launch pad for the Rick Grimes movies, because it no longer exists on its own terms", but I'd bet that most people not slurping up every bit of TWD-related news and gossip have no idea that this is the groundwork being laid, and they saw this episode as a window into who Althea was and is becoming. (Or maybe I'm wrong, and maybe people are only watching FTWD to see what happens with Rick Grimes, which seems very much like the wrong way to watch it.)
