-This show has so much awkwardness that I have to watch half of it with my hands over my eyes.

-I thought this episode did an interesting job showing how our sexuality fucks us up at every age, with Eve, the old man from the nursing home, and Eve's dirtbag son. He in particular is terrible to watch, and I'm really nervous about where they're gonna go with him.

-I had no idea that this was based on a book by Tom Perotta, the same guy who wrote The Leftovers! Superficially they couldn't be more different, but so far this show actually has some similar flavor - examining how life goes on after your old life ceases to exist. That might be reaching though.

-Finally I am slightly flabbergasted that this show is apparently classified as a comedy. Sure it has jokes, but the drama to joke ratio is lower than a lot of actual dramas. Just being a half hour long doesn't automatically make something a comedy show!

I agree, but there seem to be more jokes as we move along (at least through Ep 3). I wonder whether that's intentional, as Eve gets more comfortable in her new life.
