I had written the show off because of the Floki Iceland tourism advertisement, but I caught the trailer and might give it a grudging viewing - since this is now the series finale season and isn't going to drag on as a pale shadow of the show.

I didn't enjoy last season much and I'd pretty much written the show off too, so I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed these first two episodes of this season. I'll most likely watch this final season unless they go wildly off the rails.

I like the new, quieter Ivar so far. He was one of my least favorite characters before, but his Russian arc is off to an interesting start.

Prediction: in the finale it will be revealed that Lagertha was an Andorian anthropologist the whole time and it will turn into a Trek crossover with an epic final battle of Vikings vs. Klingons.

Loved Ivar's trip along the silk road - the multiethnic casting was super swell. Agreed about his arc.

The torture scene was really graphic, but showed the psychological side of it well. Wonder if anyone actually did the tree thing?

This seasons seems like it's not going to suck, so far.
