I think that was my favorite episode so far, because it focused on one character's story. Between this and tonight's GOT, it's been very satisfying.

Yeah, I liked this one quite a bit. Eva Green has been impressing me.

From what Vanessa said during the seance, I had thought Lord Malcolm's son died as a little boy, so that threw me a little. And now I want to go back and re-watch all the Vanessa/Malcolm scenes with the backstory in mind; I never noticed there being any antagonism between them aside from during the seance, and I assumed that was all coming from external forces.

And I guess this means we can expect an Ethan flashback-o-rama episode eventually, so, yay for that.

I never rated Timothy Dalton as an actor, but his performance as Sir Malcolm Murray really grabs me.

Dalton's performance in Hot Fuzz put him in a new light for me. Not that I disliked him before, but I think I'd only ever see him playing the romantic leading man hero type before, and in Hot Fuzz he gets to play a baddie, and he seemed to have a lot of fun with it.

And he got to interact with the Hound.

When Eva Green, wearing a nightgown, asks you in the middle of the night "Would you like to see something interesting?", you always say yes. No matter what.

I agree but at the same time you gotta admit there is no way it's gonna end well.

I agree about Dalton's performance.

I'm liking this show more and more.

Definitely not on this show.

This one's definitely the best episode so far IMO, possibly from finally getting some explanations and answers as well as a cohesive and compelling storyline without introducing even more new characters.

That was very good. So let's see if I got it so far: the older demon that took possesion of Ives during the seance seems to be Lucifer himself? Pretty nasty boyfriend you have, Ms Ives... (Also, no wonder then the first vampire froze when she got all in his face back in episode 01, heh.)

yay an episode that answers questions instead of just posing them.

Yay! That was fun.

Some thoughts I had during this episode:

- Oh! They made Timothy Dalton's wife plump! Yay!
- Oh. They made her plump to signal lack of desirability. FML
- It was the season of Peter's inadequate beard. Yes it was.
- Called it! Earlier this episode I totally called that Vanessa would tell the astronaut he was going to die up there. Though I'm mildly disappointed she didn't piss on the rug.

Dear Mina-

As everyone else I know is functionally immortal, I assume I am too. I look forward to the day when some magic box will allow me to just copy these letters and somehow paste them onto new sheets of paper as my hand is really starting to cramp and under my bed is filled with envelopes (also, Satan).

Anyways, back to what I was writing yesterday. I first became aware of shoes when I was young. Do you remember shoes? I'm sure you do, for they are like childhood. Or perhaps walking on the beach. No, no. Childhood - we obsess over them as if each pair is special, never bothering to look down to see that everyone is grounded in them. Does that make sense? I hope so - ever since my stay at that horrible Bedlam Spa I have trouble telling the difference between coy mystery and incomprehensible madness.

You know, like shoes.

yrs

Vanessa Ives

ps - It certainly would make sense to track down that mustached Captain of yours given that you are likely a member of the obsessive undead and would be doing the same, but instead I have to go to a mummy unwrapping that in no way will end in a blood bath.

This back story clashed with the seance from the earlier episode to me, too. That, coupled with the overtly horror-corny ending reminding us that Mina is evil and controlled by a bad dude who may or may not be related to the bad dude who controls Vanessa sometimes, made me realize that this is all just the writers pulling random junk out of their ... umm. At least the dialogue is mostly better than the first two episodes!

destructive cactus and I seem to be watching different shows. But that's okay.

The more I watch this the more convinced I am that the core crew are actually kind of the bad guys. Sexy, sexy bad guys.
