Linda's "Christmas magic" is the same as mine, it turns out. Except hers makes her "singy" and mine just makes me able to tolerate the season.

Honestly, what doesn't make Linda singy?

Bob has really worked through some things that have been holding him back in the last couple of episodes. Hopefully things are looking up for the Belchers.

Maybe Bob learned his tolerance for other lifestyles from his dad?

I completely lost it when Gene said his favorite president was Bill Pullman. This was a really great episode, maybe my favorite all season.

It won't be long before he's a super-suave secret agent.

Super-suave secret eggplant burger (comes with concealed eggplant). Boom. Nailed it.

Yeah. This was a great episode. I loved seeing some more Bob backstory. We've seen Linda's family (sister, parents) before, but I don't think we've ever seen any for Bob relatives before, or have we? I wonder about his mother now though.

I was thinking that they were going to make Bob's dad into a sort of "Where is Springfield?" mystery that so many shows seem to have as an homage to the Simpsons, but it was great to finally meet him. The show is able to do sentimental stuff without schmaltz very well.

That's a good point. Every time I watch this I start to cringe when I think something sentimental is coming up and then later I realize I didn't have to cringe.
