Since we are talking about Claudia, we can't talk about her without talking about all the girls' outfits and costuming. I only wish I were ever half as fashionable and self-confident as these kids.

"Get out cookies. I need some refreshments for the wake I'm having for my doll."

Man I wasn't sure if I'd wind up just watching a couple of these for the nostalgia kick, but I'm loving this so far.

Also: I am always down for Marc Evan Jackson. Had no idea he was in this!

The Claudia Kishi Club premieres this Friday. It's a 17 minute documentary about everyone's favorite artist.

Oh, I love the Kishi family. The first episode was good, but this one was the one that really sold me on the new series.

Stacy and Claudia had such good Halloween costumes! And Liz and Watson's were so lame! Perfect!

I was hoping Mary Ann's dad would be black, tbh, but it's hard to be disappointed by Marc Evan Jackson. (Except, c'mon, what if Mary Ann's dad had been Andre Braugher? I don't usually do fanfic, but this might call for a BSC-Brooklyn Nine Nine mash up.)

I know 8 episodes is a limited run for all the various families of BSC lore, but I really hope we get more Karen. That doll funeral was amazing.

I had the same thought! I mean I think Marc Evan Jackson is great as Richard Spier, but Andre Braugher would have been *chef's kiss*.

Also as someone who has had the same conversations as Claudia and her parents, only in Korean and an extra dose of disappointment, I felt very seen by this episode.

Claudia was always my favorite BSC member. I loved this episode (although there should be more hidden candy in her closet :-P)

Obviously Andre Braugher is Pop Speers, Mary Anne is EXACTLY like a daughter of Raymond & Kevin

My new fashion role model is now a fictional preteen.

I love how they demolish the Asian girl stereotypes of I Enjoy Getting Good Grades, Being Soft-Spoken, and Playing Classical Violin and she gets to be flashy and bold.

And I love how the girls take off their shoes in Claudia's house.

Similarly, I love how the blonde, sophisticated, and fashionable Stacey is the one who is good at and enjoys math.
