The view into Angua's backstory wrecked me a little, not gonna lie.

I am becoming most attached to these versions of Vimes and Cheery. As much as the series is playing fast and loose with its sources, it's done a pretty brilliant job being good as its own thing, and those two character are my standouts.

I totally thought that the episode title was "Not My Watch" but IMDB seems to think that it's "Not On My Watch."

Leaving out "On" is kind of appropriate since this ep is probably the most divergent from the source material so far.

Angua's backstory is totally harsh. Wouldn't have minded if they compared/ contrasted her experience with that of her brother's.

Argh sorry about that. I'm dealing with post-covid brain fog which explains how even though I was extra careful not to make a mistake and I still made a mistake. Sorry everyone.

I agree with you about Cheery and Vimes hanov3r. If it wasn't for those two, I probably would have dropped out by now.

I have to say, I'm now watching it despite, not because of, the Discworld origins (poorly referenced). It's fun in its own right, just a smidgen sad that it's not reflective of Pterry's genius.

post-covid

Glad you got over the initial bump, hope you feel better sooner! I kind of like the version of the title without the "On" better.

Thanks Porpoise. Hopefully my brain will get itself together for the next post.

Gawain was excellent casting. Just perfect.

I think that I'm happier, overall, that this series is not really Pratchettian. Somewhere in the middle of the first episode I was mercifully able to just... drop those expectations, and that has made a big difference in my ability to enjoy things.
