Just caught up on episodes 3-7 this morning/afternoon. Thank you to whoever pointed out that the opening credit sequence art was different every episode, I'd been scanning past without really looking at them after the first couple episodes, had to go back and rewatch the ones I hadn't deleted already.

I didn't register that was Nathan Fillion voicing the octopus until reading the recap.

The opening credits also seem to be relevant to something(s) that happen in the episode.

This show got really good sometime around episode 4 or 5 and its all coming together. The jokes are landing better, or at least, more consistently.

Don't know if Asta's worn that leather jacket before, but it has a lovely First Nations detailing.

Deputy Liv deserves so much better.

So, I'm digging the show and one aspect I have been thinking on- who killed Sam, the doctor? I have a theory. Tell me what you think:

Why can Max see Harry's true alien form? Maybe because Max is half alien, but not the same species as Harry. Some other, older species. If Max's dad, the mayor, were an alien, but not just any alien-he's an arch criminal kind of like the Master from Dr.Who, and he's hiding out from galactic justice on tiny stupid backwater planet Earth. Harry's people discovered he was there, and that is Harry's mission-destroy the planet NOT because the humans have to go, but because they want to be sure to destroy the big bad disguised as the mayor. The mayor can see Harry, but does nothing cuz he wants to maintain cover.

Dr. Sam discovered something odd in the mayor's last physical (or maybe Max's) and the mayor killed Dr. Sam to prevent the good doctor from blowing his cover.

What do you think?

I think vrakatar needs to be in the show's writers room.

Next to WandaVision, this is my fave of the year and I'll pine for the second season. I love the back and forth between Max and Harry. The bit with the octopus was wonderful.
