An eccentric chicken farmer, with the help of his granddaughter, trains his mischievous dog, Oddball, to protect a sanctuary for endangered faery penguins from fox attacks in an attempt to reunite his family and save their seaside town.

Streaming in the US on Starz. Ever so loosely adapted from a true story. Also stars Alan Tudyk.

This is the kind of floofy family film Disney usually makes. Plus Alan Tudyk. It's a 4 out of 10 but won't make you hate yourself if you have to watch it to entertain kids. It's the very adorable and partly true story of Maremma sheep dogs being employed to protect endangered faery penguins.

The only truly annoying part was Granddad being played by an actor only 15/16 years older than the woman playing his kid.

It was predictable, but breezy lightweight and enjoyable.
