Poldark: Episode 1.3

Ross reopens Wheal Leisure. Elizabeth gives birth to a son, Geoffrey Charles. One of Ross's workers, young Jim Carter, is taken to court for poaching, and Ross tries to save him from transportation. Rumours swirl about Ross and Demelza, and their relationship takes a turn.

Francis, you dick. You have reason to be upset over your wife's feelings for Ross, but being an asshole to your wife and your sister and taking up with a prostitute is NOT going to make matters better.

Poor Jim. His story is one of several tragic subplots that take place in this show. Ross should have been quicker to offer him better work. Giving him a cottage to live in was going to help him get married, but it wasn't going to help him feed his mother and sisters.

Fun fact: the magistrate in the court scene is Robin Ellis, who played Ross Poldark in the 1970s Poldark series.

Demelza has learned to curtsy and has begun to learn to read, she can make good pastry, and she has even dared to experience wearing a silk dress, and then she levels up into banging Ross, and from there into marriage. You can't say she isn't quick on the uptake.

Seriously though, that scene of Demelza with Ross is smoking hot, and you don't even see much.
