The five-episode series follows siblings Lily (Emeraude Toubia) and Jorge Jr. (Mark Indelicato), their parents Beatriz (Constance Marie) and Jorge Sr. (Benito Martinez), their non-binary cousin Sol (Isis King) and their respective significant others through a year marked by holidays beginning with Nochebuena (Christmas Eve) and ending with Dia de los Muertos. I've only watched the first episode so far, but it seems cute. I love Calderón Kellett's take on One Day at a Time, but I admit it can feel a little overly didactic at times. So far this seems to keep the charm and go a bit less heavy handed on the "broccoli" as she puts it in the Paste article.

Finished this. 5 episodes was kind of an awkward length, I think - I would have liked it better either tightened up to movie length or given more episodes to explore the minor characters more and give some of the core relationships more time to develop. Saw a lot of our 4 main couples, but I could have used more of the side characters - Nick, the grandparents, Santiago's dad I felt all got shorted especially in the last couple episodes. Not sure I ever really got on board with the Lily-Santiago pairing - would have liked an episode between them getting together and moving in, or moving in and breaking up.

Still enjoyed it, good performances and cute premise.
