13 Ghosts (1960)

Reclusive Dr. Zorba has died and left his mansion to his nephew Cyrus and his family. They will need to search the house to find the doctor's fortune, but along with the property they have also inherited the occultist's collection of 13 ghosts. A film by William Castle.

Currently available for digital rental in the US on various outlets and streaming free on Hoopla.

I am afraid I’ve only seen the remake, which is it’s own kind of over-the-top. Is this more scary or camp?

It's a less-effective (but still fun) version of the campy, all-spelled-out, nonthreatening horror of Castle's House on Haunted Hill.
