This reminds me a little of John Dahl's films in that a simple premise gets exploded and complicated over and over again. Not earth-shattering, but solid and entertaining.

This is probably the only movie I can think of in which someone uses cocaine as a power-up before the final action scene.

Chekhov's cocaine, if you will.

I liked this, it's an effective little film that sets out to do a thing and then does it well without overstaying its welcome. Went a lot more bloody and intense than I expected, including some very surprising physical comedy.

I wanted to enjoy this one more than I did, sadly. Maybe I'm just burned out on movies made during covid which feature small casts in isolated locations.
