The Valet (2022)

Movie star Olivia (Samara Weaving) faces a PR disaster when a paparazzi snaps a photo of her with her married lover, Vincent. Hard-working valet Antonio (Eugenio Derbez) accidentally appears in the same photo and is enlisted to pose as Olivia's new boyfriend as a cover-up. This ruse with Olivia thrusts Antonio into the spotlight and unexpected chaos.

A big, broad, goofy romcom of the type that used to be common, but is rare as a unicorn these days. Genial, inclusive, and cheerful, if ridiculous and predictable. Pure piffle, but pleasant.

I loved this! Yes predictable, but also genuinely funny with a big, squishy heart.

I hadn't realized how much I was missing this type of romcom as light entertainment. Fluffy and enjoyable, just the sort of entertainment I needed at the end of my work week.

This was absolutely lovely, but I don't know that I would classify it as a romcom. More a comedy with romantic elements. I absolutely adored this and want to watch it again already.

I hear what you're saying. It absolutely doesn't go to the normal romcom endpoints. But I'd say it's intentionally playing with the tropes, sooooo... How you score it is personal, I guess.
