Helix: Densho
February 7, 2015 12:24 PM - Season 2, Episode 4 - Subscribe

The CDC team continues to not get off the island of Brother Michael and his scary disciples, insisting that they have to find the source of the virus that turns people stabby. Alan, the team's former leader, doesn't care much as he has own reasons for pretending to be a member of the cult. In the future, Hatake tries to bond with his daughter Julia, but she'd prefer her mummy. This continues to anger her dead brother. Sadly, Doreen from season 1 remains dead.

They have always said Helix was a horror show, not a disease show.

Now I believe them.

Best use of The Andy Griith theme ever.

Brother Michael is obviously immortal. Curious what Sergio is up to and where Julia and Hatake are doing in the present day.

Syfy has said that Hiroyuki Sanada was only available for a couple of episodes so it's possible Hatake won't be coming back. Word is the character he played on Extant won't be returning there either. I wish someone would give him his own show.

I don't understand how immortals can die in the Helix world. I know with vampires it's silver or sunlight and with werewolves it's silver bullets or stakes through the heart but did they ever explain what the Achilles heel was for Helix immortals?

Fuse theorem, I've been thinking of the Helix immortals the same way I do Tolkein's elves: they CAN be killed, but only using certain methods or after a vast amount of time has already passed.

In s1, we saw Constance Sutton die via beheading; Julia states that the disease she's infected with is now killing the immortals, too.

So, I'm guessing it has something to do with their particular neurochemistry. Anyone else think Michael's three "best" ladies = the fates?

Interestingly, the engraving on Hatake's katana (二〇一五年八月十五日) translates to August 15, 2015.

Yes, that's what I thought, they're some sort of symbol. Or maybe his collection of past, present and future wives? Or symbolically the same, while being his conscience and senior acolytes?

Whatever they are, do NOT fuck with Grandma.

Brandon, did you notice that Middle Fate Ann always wears scarves? I think I know how this show's going to tie S2 and S1 together.

No, just noticed that Brother Michael always caresses her in a choking like way. Which sounds oh so ominous!

Do tell on the scarf!
