Answer Me This!: AMT309: Baked Bean Baths, Gotham and Melanie Griffith's Lion

Unsuitable celebrity pets prowl through today's episode; We’re a crossword clue and a powerful influence upon Burger King’s business plans; We also take a dip in a charity bathful of beans, try to see into Snoopy's psyche, and cosh each other with stage weapons.

On today’s agenda: existential cats vs existential dogs, Garfield vs Falstaff, Gotham vs Gotham, cookies vs soup, Woodstock, Shazam at funerals, Audrey Hepburn’s pet fawn, Tippi Hedren’s pet lion, Mike Tyson’s pet tiger, Mike Tyson’s pet pigeons, Nicolas Cage’s pet octopus, baked bean baths, Cuckoo Bush Mound, stage weapons, sexy spaghetti, and, Olly’s ABSOLUTELY UNCANNY impression of Ben Affleck as Batman.

Many more extras on the show notes. AMT309 Child-Friendly Rating: 70%. The language is coarse, but the content isn’t particularly.

I am very intrigues by the idea that we should be pronouncing Batman's home as "GOHT-əm." Apparently, this is, in actuality, the city that Batman's Gotham was named after, as per Wikipedia:

In a story titled 'Cityscape' in Batman Chronicles No. 6 it is revealed that Gotham was initially built for the purpose of housing the criminally insane, and Robin reads a journal that tells of how Gotham got its name; "I even have a name for it. We could call it 'Gotham' after a village in England - where, according to common belief, all are bereft of their wits."

It's hard to imagine something that gives me the mixture of delight, fear and WTFery that I get from that photo shoot of Neil the Lion at home with the Hedren-Marshall-Griffiths.

I had never heard that insane story of Melanie Griffith and the lion, so I too had to look it up. My lord! Those photos are terrifying!

I liked Helen and Ollie's conversation about whether cats were psychopathic or not. I'm a cat lover, but I am pretty sure if my cats had been lion sized they might have eaten me.
