July 6, 2014 2:11 PM - Season 3, Episode 3 - Subscribe

The murder of a dog that was left a 20-million-dollar estate by his deceased owner, an heiress, forces the team to suspect foul play in the owner's death. Wannabe detective Jonathan "Dick Tracy" Baird (Andrew Daly), assists with the case.

Richard Tracy was previously featured in The Closer, in the episode "Tapped Out" (Season 5, Episode 6).

I thought Rusty's panic about the job opening in that last scene was a setup by Provenza & him & Raydor to get Tracy to 'steal' it so they could get him out of their hair; it seemed like such over-acting by everyone I was surprised to realize it was meant to be sincere. Provenza writing a recommendation for Rusty with the name left blank to be filled in last makes no sense as anything but a plot contrivance. (I mean, I could buy Provenza being lazy enough to use a form letter recommendation, but, I can't imagine a form that was a perfect fit for Rusty's merits without needing at least some revising.)

Always nice to see Mayor Wilkins though.

I thought given later developments with Rusty, it was good to see him making the healthy choice NOT to drop out from school to support his mom ahead of that whole mess too.
