Inaugural Outfit of the Episode
This week was a bad week to start this feature as most of the girls were fairly normally dressed, but the Pterodactyl household consensus was Aria's outfit, especially the shirt. That said, in Aria Montgomery land that's pretty conservative.

Ali called 911! Is a Liar calling 911 a first? That said, it's very Liars to call 911 for the first time and then just launch into "I know who A is." As someone on the PLL subreddit pointed out the dispatcher should have responded with "I stopped after Season 4 cuz that shit got ridiculous."

The ending was a little jumbled (intentionally, I think), but I liked Jason in this. Him really wanting to meet Charles is an interesting twist that puts him at a bit of angle to the main plot in a way I like. I do feel like it's running Charles's motives more toward his father, which make sense, but doesn't really explain the years of tormenting the girls. Toby accidentally drugging himself was a bit much, but very PLL, so that's fine.

Someone (again, on the PLL subreddit, because I am adult at my job) pointed out that the presence of the tennis ball shooting machine means there might be a connection between the country club and A. It's a reach (again, this is PLL, that means nothing), but I know that the country club A connection has been floated here before.

Bits I loved:
Sara's "I've had enough pretend kisses," so ridiculous.
Hanna's "Spencer and I have been studying...videos online" before cutting tracking devices out of her friends.
Spencer reminding Aria that the ringing was her phone and not her implanted tracking chip.

That would have been FANTASTIC. Seriously, that poor dispatcher.

I also loved them cutting out their own tracking devices. It was excellent. Toby being drugged was not but maybe it'll matter in his relationship with Spencer and that would at least be something happening.

My real problem was that this felt like another placeholder episode; there was some decent Jason stuff but I don't think anything really HAPPENED and at the end it felt like everything was basically the same as it had been at the beginning. I'm worried the next couple of episodes are going to be the same way, that the finale is going to be over-the-top bonkers amazing but that we've got a couple more weeks of treading water.

I feel like the Spencer Toby relationship has run its course and I'd like the show to address that. I know we got the time jump coming soon, so it doesn't really make sense to break them up now, but damn it, they do nothing but glower at each other in between fights. Also, Spoby was always a terrible relationship name; this was doomed from the start.

This thread is not particularly active this week but I am not surprised because the episode was not great. I respect the choice not to participate.

I respect the choice not to participate.

Well, that outfit was underwhelming.

Though I am glad that outfits are now included in the posts! I typically don't like any unnecessary editorializing on fanfare posts but the outfits have such a presence...it's like when people say "it's like New York City is its own character!" but, like, not insufferable. It's a good, relevant addition to the ongoing PLL discussion.

It was a bad outfit week for sure. Hopefully, Aria gets back to her usual shenanigans soon.

Also, they've been keeping the episodes super tight time wise, so everything happens in basically day and they don't wear as many clothes, which is a shame.

Can we maybe go back to an earlier episode and pick an outfit from that one? For example, whose prom dress was best? I think Emily's both in terms of how much I liked the dress itself and how well it worked for her in terms of flatteringness and personality, but I'm open to other (wrong) opinions.

We could also go back to when they wore wedding dresses and critique those!

Dresses from Season 4, Episode 23 "Unbridled."

I would probably vote for Emily again. Aria's dress is close, but that picture isn't great. I don't remember if it looked better during the episode, but it's not really working for her there.

My ranking for prom dresses is:
Emily
Vampire Aria
Spencer MacLeod, of Clan MacLeod
Hanna

Agree but it's Spencer MacGoth of Clan MacGoth -- look at the choker and eye makeup.

I was just going for the Highlander joke.

For wedding dresses, based on this picture I'm going with, best to worst:

Dresses:
Emily
Hanna
Aria
Spencer

Although these are a lot closer I think (Spencer's low because I'm not crazy about strapless stuff). I also really like Emily's dress but it's not what I would have worn for my wedding and I think it's a kind of sophisticated choice for someone her age.

Veils:
Aria
Spencer
Emily
Hanna

Uh, this is the Pretty Little Liars thread so that's all we talk about here. Ever. We're very strict and never chatty.

Oh and let's do an outfit for each of the Season Six Episodes. These are the most PLL outfits, not the best, obviously, although if Spencer were to bring back one of her classic "just got back from horseback riding" Season One ensembles, it would obvious be both.

Episode One "Game On Charles": Aria's Leggings
Episode Two "Songs of Innocence": Aria just wearing a shirt that says "Barf" (I actually kind of love this)
Episode Three "Songs of Experience": Oh Good Lord Hanna
Episode Four "Don't Look Now": Nothing too bad, actually. Aria wore some bold patterned jeans and a kind of stupid jacket, but at this point I'm inured.
Episode Five "She's No Angel": Hanna's Pineapple skirt is a bit much, but not awful
Episode Six "No Stone Unturned": The overalls that got us into this mess

I feel like there's a yellow Hanna dress missing from this list? When she goes back to school? Is that the same as the pineapple one?

I dunno. W/re the prom dresses, I've gotta give Spencer's dress the win, since it alludes to Alexander McQueen.

After that, i'd go: Hanna, Aria, then Emily.

And if we're picking "worst outfits of season 6," we really have to include some of Ezra's new white-on-black dotted Swiss shirts in the mix, because those are eye-searing.

Yeah it's a shame that that site only has women's clothes, because Ezra has stepped up his terrible outfit game this season. Unfortunately Googling "Ezra t-shirts PLL" just turns up shirts that say things like "I <3 Mr. Fitz"

Well that's creepy.
