Mystery Science Theater 3000: MASTER NINJA II
October 1, 2015 3:41 AM - Season 3, Episode 24 - Subscribe

"The 2-man army fights terror from the sky! Max and the Master storm a mountain fortress to rescue a beautiful hostage!" The unlikeliest ninja, former Western star Lee Van Cleef, again teams up with the unlikeliest ninja apprentice, Timothy Van Patton, to help a fledgling union and thwart terrorists. It's two more episodes of failed action-adventure series The Master. Generally in those cases where a movie's sequel is riffed it's less impressive than the first time, but I like this one. It contains a classic sketch, the one where Tom Servo pairs detectives with hypothetical pets. This is the final episode of Season Three. YouTube. Premiered January 25, 1992.

Important note: I wasn't able to get the double feature encode done in time (due to such demands on my time as making a Sesame Street Muppet megapost), so we're going to put that off to next time. So, we are not starting early (except in the usual sense of offering preroll material), it's business as usual this week.

The episode will again be shown at http://sync-video.com/tv/rodneylives today (Thursday) at 9 PM, Eastern Time. Feel free to drop by and riff along. Here's the MST3K Club FAQ.

Yeah, I don't like this one as much. Crystal Bernard is just no Demi Moore.

Somehow the writing in this one (of the "movie," I mean) feels even more sophomoric than the first one.

And yet we get Monte Markham AND Loser Bond.

Thank you for being people who will both watch MST3K *and* make Shakespeare puns with me!

Also, in lieu of points this week, I've decided to make us all 1/16 Crow.

That really was a nice piece of real estate.

Ah, Crow. I knew him, ilana. A fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy. He hath borne me on his back a thousand times, and now how abhorred in my imagination it is! My gorge rises at it. Here hung those lips that I have kissed I know not how oft. Where be your ninjas now? Your shuriken? Your ninja-to? Your flashes of kuji-kiri, that were wont to set the table on a roar?

Yet, ere I yield to fury's call to shank,
I plead thus: willst thou push the button, Frank?
