The Mindy Project: Mindy and Nanny

With Danny seeing his father and Mindy back on the job, Danny's mother (Rhea Perlman) steps in to help take care of little Leo. A clash of personalities ensues, driving Mindy to seek a nanny to replace her overly intrusive mother-in-law. Also, Jeremy has girlfriend problems.

I like Mindy, and I like Danny, and I'm ok with them being together, but I find any plotline that gets Mindy away from Danny and interacting with the rest of the hospital cast is much preferable to Mindy and Danny puttering around the apartment and being Lucy and Desi together.

I think the writers tend to agree that Danny and Mindy work best when with someone other than each other, or at least surrounded or accompanied by others. There common solution is to simply push Morgan front and center into the storylines. This episode he was assisting in choosing a nanny. Last episode he accompanied Danny on his road trip. I'm somewhat glad they're pushing out with the other characters, though, it seems Jeremy's girlfriend is something of a weird conjuring of a stereotype existing purely to drive the characters of Jeremy and our newest doc.
