This show is so much stronger when the two of them are together, so I'm ready for them to truly start dating.

Gus is such a gutless blob. I really hope Mickey kicks him in the ass a bit. Every time he's on set "working" I'm shaking my fists and/or covering my eyes, cringing.

Jordan Rock was pretty deft and funny as the craft services guy, which was a surprise, since previously, I'd only his epic fail on Last Comic Standing ("I'm Chris Rock's brother!! PLEEZ HALP!")

I'm interested to see how people react to Mickey trying to fuck her way out of her problems at work. The payoff to that scene was surprising though, with Dr. Greg having been seriously underestimated and maybe even a semi-decent human being.

The more of Mickey's roommate Bertie we get, the better I think. That's a hard character to pull off: someone who is ceaselessly positive and optimistic, but isn't necessarily dim in the slightest.

After the Dr. Greg/Mickey sex scene I was unsure what side the show wanted me to take which left me feeling a little ambiguous about it. Like, even if everything Dr. Greg said was true, he was still being unacceptably creepy to Mickey in previous scenes. I don't think trying to manipulative sex your way out of your problems is necessarily good either but at least the show showed that she was kind of in a corner there.

Wow is Gus' job bad. Also now we're getting into how Gus is also a hot mess of a character instead of just vague notions that he's "too nice," which may or may not be true but we haven't actually seen much of that, just hear about it from his ex-girlfriend.

I will be really interested to see what they do with Dr. Greg, for a variety of reasons, not least of which that Brett Gelman is a terrific and funny actor.

But that pendulum shift into pitying him there such was a hard shift, I legitimately don't know how to take him. All of his creepiness still happened, though, so yeah, maybe even this doesn't clear the decks, even if we got a dose of humanity there.

If I didn't think Brett Gelman was great, this might be easier.

I just assumed Dr. Greg was lying about everything to make Mickey feel guilty and that he is, indeed, still a creepy boss. Not that I think her strategy was really great, but as john-a-dreams said, she really was backed into a corner. I don't buy this misunderstood nice guy act at all.

I can hardly stand to watch Gus at his job. I am sure this is partly because I think back to my days as a substitute high school teacher and think, Jesus, I wasn't even that spineless my first day on the job when I didn't know what I was doing AT ALL.

Iris Apatow is sooooo good in that role, because her character is such a brat that she makes me want to shake her every second she's on screen.

Bertie! I love Bertie. I loved the scene with the focus group and how she was so positive and tried to get them to, uh, focus even when they were all going in ten different negative directions.

This was absolutely my reading of it. He was creepy in the set-up, she did a reversal to take control, and he reversed that yet again to manipulate her into feeling guilty and bad. He is a good actor and it must be fun to play such a narcissistic character -- he is one of several characters in this show who could easily have become the focus of a full show themselves.
