So...Next season will be super-empowered Fish Mooney and a truck-load of...evil mutants?

I have to admit, my interest in this season really flagged about half-way through. I stuck with it, though. It seemed like a long slog to simply introduce the idea of a mysterious secret group controlling everything. Still, overall, good dumb (if excessively violent) fun.

The season spun its wheels for a while in the middle. Killing Kid Joker may have been a mistake. It seemed like the writers didn't know what to do until BD Wong was cast as Hugo Strange, at which point the obvious solution was to put him on screen as much as possible. It worked.

Killing Kid Joker may have been a mistake.

I definitely agree with that.
Wasn't he also carted off to the research facility? If so, might he have been the source of the semi-maniacal laughing heard while the...mutants?...were exiting the back of the bus?

Yes they've set it up so that everyone who "died" in S1-S2 might now turn up again, only bigger and badder. Part of the job in S3 will be to explain how the resurrection machine disappears so there's a limit to the number of supervillains it can create.

The only thing that will make the next season interesting is if young Bruce puts on a Robin costume.

Heh. Truly, Gotham is the new Smallville.

I will say that however bananas the plot twist is that gets us twice as much David Mazouz, it's probably worth it. That kid is great.

He was a very good casting choice, yeah. I actually don't have a lot of complaints with regard to Gotham's casting. More their... everything else. (Strange and Peabody kept this season watchable for me almost entirely on their own.)

Still not sold on Gordon, but it's hard to tell how much of that is him and how much of it is that they don't know what to do with him.

And lil Bruce is definitely growing on me. He was an annoyance initially but is now becoming Bruce Wayne.
