It is really hard to describe the very quiet New England reserved smugness about the Pats early winning streak.

(I've had a suspicion that the organization has essentially thrown a few games (perhaps seasons) to avoid an appearance of steamrolling the league. I this turns into a perfect season it'll support that thesis.)

I'm not a Patriots hater, and being perennial contenders is a great feat. But they've won one Superbowl in the last decade. Even if Bill Belichick were the cuddliest, least competitive coach in the league I'm not really sure he'd feel the need to lose games to make the rest of the league feel they had a shot.

My Facebook feed does not seem to indicate any kind of reserved anything.

Am smug, and am looking forward to having a peaceful, relaxing Sunday.

My TV has terrible reception tonight but that's okay, so do the Bears.

Well, the Seahawks looked better, at least.

I'm still just "FLY EAGLES FLY" since, you know, the Eagles totally dominated what was considered to be the much better team.

Bill Belichick wouldn't throw a game of Candyland against his grandkids.

I loved this tweet:

AFC East QB Rankings:
1. Tom Brady
2. Jimmy Garoppolo
3. Jacoby Brissett

Interesting to see that the Vikings might be good without their two best offensive players...

Holy CRAP, Philadelphia. That was borderline obscene (And quite enjoyable to watch while on a business trip to Steelers territory).

I'm hoping that the Eagles can get the O-line sorted out and settled with Lane Johnson's suspension coming up probably after the bye. It just blows my mind that a coach from Andy Reid's tree could have a balanced offensive attack. They scored a TD after like 6 running plays! Unheard of for this team! And the defense was ferocious. I know it didn't matter to the final score, but the Eagles blocked a FG! I'm using far too many exclamation points, but I'm shocked at how good the team looked. I still can't quite believe that they're real.

That Jets game, though. Speechless.
