  • Yay Kenya! Of all the eliminated queens, she's the one I most wanted back in the challenge.
  • I loved the teddy bear challenge, and particularly loved the Jiggly-esque Malibu Bearbie.
  • Sharon out there complaining 'cause she got the "weirdo?" LOL BITCH PUHLEEEEEZE (*On review, as I continue to watch the episode, the guy is coming across like an absolute tool) (**HOLY SHIT, WHO THE FUCK IS THIS ASSHOLE AND WHERE DID THEY FIND HIM) (***In the end, while still an asshole, he ended up being an entertaining asshole)
  • Awww. Chad's Dad, James, seems like the sweetest man on earth.
  • That Latrice cutaway at the mention of Jesse Tyler Ferguson: "He cute as a button." I love you, Latrice.
  • During rehearsals, Kenya's Dad reminded me so very, very much of this.
  • I'm kind of... shocked at how well Phi Phi's Dad did on the runway, because he had made *zero* impression on me up to that point. Well won.
  • Hell yeah, lipsync! Kenya's dancing was pretty great, but... she did not. fucking. get. this. song. Latrice connected with the lyrics, and without any acrobatics, simply stood there and KILLED IT. Nicely fucking done. Yesssssss.

Sharon's dad is SO GROSS. I suspect producers talked to him before the second day, thus the apology and the major reduction in grossness.

But I really want to talk about the lip sync. This lip sync. Phew. I feel like some theater person could write an essay about the lip sync. The contrast between the look, size, and movement of the two people on stage and how that makes the powerful performance more powerful and the weaker one weaker. The way that someone can express a huge range of emotion while barely moving, and the way someone can express a huge range of movement while barely emoting. The fact that the actual trans woman completely fails to connect with a song about being a woman, while a (to my knowledge) cis man does. The fact that Latrice manages to take a pregnancy belly, which would be a huge liability in any other lip sync (cf Acid Betty) and turns it into a goddamn asset. This is my favorite LSFYL by a wide margin.

I have a hard time rewatching this episode because of how gross Sharon's partner acts, and I usually love the makeover episodes.

I would have liked to have gotten more of Latrice and her DILF. They had great rapport. Though Latrice could probably make friends with anyone. I laughed because Latrice made her DILF look like Tyra Sanchez.

I think Chad was older than her DILF. Really thought she should have won. We didn't see much of the dances, so I can't judge that, but her runway was by far the best. Chad's runways are often totally above the other queen's.

Cool to see Kenya back, though we all knew she'd be sent home again. She's lovely and fun to watch, but not in the same league as the others.

Something I learned recently is that Kenya Michaels performed at the Pulse nightclub the night of the terror attack. My God.
