So Rimmer and the Eds are just weird screwed-up humans? I'd been assuming they were aliens.

Lot of plot left to resolve in the finale, guess there's no hope of some thing being left dangling into season two. At this point I mostly want to know what the connection is between Bart and Dirk.

:( Dirk only realized it was an unalterable loop when he saw the gorilla mask, that's why he was trying to calm Todd down. He knew it was time travel, but up until that point he though he could change the past.

Poor Dirk. Good script writing.

I dunno which would be the right episode to say it, but Alison Thornton, the actress who plays the corgi-as-Lydia, has done a hilarious job this whole season.

I've been feeling bad for her, she's had two lines and the rest of her screen time she's just been acting like a dog... Imagine her friends and family watching.... I'd be so embarrassed.

I think the Eds might be in defective hosts, somehow.

I don't think the current hosts were the problem - Rimmer mentioned something about them having spent too much time ensouled in goldfish and other animals, so they must have lost some marbles in the transfers.

I really like all the emotional stuff between Dirk and Todd.

I have no idea how they wrap all this up in a finale, though. It seems like if they were hoping for a few seasons of this that it would make sense for each season to have a one main storyline. Which means they need to wrap this up and then maybe dangle a carrot for the next thing...if there is going to be a next thing?

it already got renewed for another season by the BBC (ten episodes this time) so there will be a next thing! just trying to figure out who the recurring characters will be.

gotta say, after some mid-season flailing around the last 2-3 episodes have been killing it.

I obviously didn't realize it had been renewed. Yay! Yeah, it took me a few episodes to like it but now I appreciate this different version of Dirk. And I really do enjoy the emotional bromance stuff so I hope that somehow gets extended throughout the series.

This series has been better than I'd expected!

So did the Bart and Ken storyline just sort of peter out once Bart met Dirk and realized he was another product of Project Black Wing or whatever that was?

I'm assuming Bart and Ken will turn up in the next episode, since it's the season finale? I hope the weaponized kitten also gets a happy resolution (or joins the detective agency and becomes a regular character).

The old film-school student in me loved that the de-brief after Patrick Spring kills Patrick Spring takes place on a jetty.

(For the non-former-film-students, La Jetée is a sci-fi short film from 1962 about experiments in Time Travel and a man witnessing his own death, an incident he doesn't understand until he lives it. 12 Monkeys is very much based on it. The "jetty" in the movie is inside Orly Airport, but I still feel like this was an intentional nod here.)
