Billions: Victory Lap

Axe mulls future of Sandicott. Chuck's team discusses their future. Chuck looks to a political future.

Alt summary: Axe opts for austerity. Chuck opts for politics. Both shed whatever fragments of moral compass they ever had. Lara shows she's made of steel. Wendy still has a heart and she rode the Elon Musk guy.

It was "funny" how Axe was the one trying to find some way other than savage debt collection to make it all work while Taylor has totally gone Galt and Lara is all like "fuck 'em sideways" seemingly out of resentment over her younger days, cynically suggesting to set up some charitable org to run charter schools so they don't look like complete asshats by completely denying the kids of Sandicot any chance at an education.

You'd think Axe would have learned from Boyd's jury selection experience (and Chuck kinda fucking him). Especially given the civil suits are no longer an issue, I have no idea why Axe thinks he isn't still in Chuck's crosshairs. Or why he rehired Wendy, for that matter. You'd think he'd never had a down quarter in his life given how stupid he is being on so many fronts, at home, at work, pretty much everywhere.

Happily, I've enjoyed the season so far enough that I can forgive one particularly facepalm-worthy episode and move on.
