Oh thank god, I thought I was going to explode before this thread got posted; How can it possibly take a month to try 9999 four digit codes? Is she incompetent? Does she try one every five minutes? HOW?

10 seconds per combination * 10000 = 100,000 seconds = 1667 minutes = 27 hours

Assuming she can't sit there doing this 8 hours per day, maybe doing it one hour per day is what she was estimating?

...surely there are machines for this?

I'll give them credit for doing a really good job of telegraphing where the missing piece was.

For the last few episodes, I've been finding myself eyeing and noticing Amenadiel's necklace. Now, admittedly, it's not that unusual at all for me to pay attention to jewellery, and especially to men's jewellery (as there is so little of it) that I just chalked it up to my own personal quirks. But it seems that there was more to it than than. I'm guessing the photography, lightening, etc. were all working to make sure we all noticed who was wearing what (both the necklace and Lucifer's ring), just so we wouldn't feel cheated that these pieces were somehow slipped in under our radar.

Does anybody else think Ella might turn out to be "Dad"?

I've seen multiple projects for machines meant to break codes like this, often using things like servos and mechanical fingers when for example the user interface is a safe dial. It wasn't a deal-breaker for an otherwise great episode but it was a jarring miss on the part of the writers.

From the closeup of the phone when the "bad guy" tech connected the phone to his laptop, it looked like an iPhone 6, 6S, or 7 in a case. For the newer iPhones, the OS combined with the secure enclave enforce an escalating time delay after more then four invalid passcode attempts (see iOS Security, pg. 12). After 9 consecutive incorrect attempts to enter the passcode the phone will enforce a delay of 1 hour between passcode attempts. If you're running iOS 10 on an iPhone 5S or newer, 10000 passcode attempts would take more than 400 days.

Totally worth the $5.

"Does anybody else think Ella might turn out to be 'Dad'?"

I said the same thing to someone a couple days ago! I don't, really, but she's such an interesting and odd character it's easy to think maybe there's more there than meets the eye.

I was a bit thrown by Charlotte's body just shrugging off the stabbing. After all, how many did Mum go through when she first arrived? She re-killed a bunch of them.

I guess being in the one for so long has made it much more robust. I guess I can live with that.

My bigger question is how the heck are they going to get to heaven? Aside from Amenadiel, we know that isn't where they go when they die, and I don't recall Lucifer getting his coin back. I have a sinking feeling that they are going to" have" to do something totally fucked up involving Chloe.

The thing I can't wrap my head round is that Maze and Lucifer were full-on fighting for quite some time in public and no one even stopped to watch, let alone call the police? No way. Bystander syndrome ain't that much of a thing. Maybe they got tired of destroying the Lux set.
