My Brother, My Brother And Me: MBMBaM 374: Respect the Journey

We're back after nearly a month of not recording new episodes, and boy, do we only kind of remember how this thing works. If memory serves, it's mostly just a fancast of Marc Cohn's "Walking in Memphis," right? Right?! Suggested talking points: PJ Masks, Brush On The Go, Kissing Scenes, Boss Mugging, Standing Still in Memphis, Griffin's Occupation, Dipping Posters, Cereal from Heaven

That wasn't a good episode, however, it's 100% understandable given the circumstances.

What's the song that Justin is riffing on when he sings the "munch squad" intro?

I wanna Rock by Twisted Sister.

I haven't watched this video for years. It's bananas. Mark Metcalf is off the chain.

It seemed like they were tired and just wanted to hang out and chat instead of answering questions. I am looking forward to Justin's PO Box being crammed full of Dipping Posters though.

No instant classic bits but I really enjoyed the PJ Masks opener and Walking in Memphis riff.

It's interesting how I felt like the main weakness with this episode was that they weren't in the groove of knowing when something was done and going on to the next thing. They've talked about how that's an important part of the show and boy howdy is it ever apparently. Hope they're feeling better next week.

I wonder if there's a spike in sales when the McElroys mention a song from their childhood on an episode?

Like the people at iTunes are wondering "Why are we moving so many copies of 'Walking in Memphis' or "Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)"?"

I loved their journey regarding the dipping posters. There's a Mickey D's near me that is supposed to have them, so I think I'll check it out on Saturday.

"Brothers have strong feelings about a thing, slowly talk themselves into the opposite strong feelings" is one of the classic McElroy bits at this point, and McDonalds Posters is one of my favorite executions. Very enjoyable episode overall even if they were a bit tired and stiffer than some other times.

I listened to this a few days after it came out, so when they said "the only way a new sauce is a pop-culture event is if they're actually bringing back the Szechuan sauce" a little voice in my head was yelling "THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT THEY'RE DOING THOUGH"

Late again to this one. Not a great episode, as everyone said, but the "someone left a bowl of Froot Loops on my lawn, what does this mean?" question is the type of question I'd use when trying to describe the show.
