Conflict with the Saviors leads to unintended consequences for the Hilltop, the Kingdom, and Alexandria; morality proves tricky in wartime.

I'm finding myself not just bored but actively repelled by the endless gunfights; in particular this week Ezekiel's group shooting into a crowd of Saviors felt like a spectacularly badly timed bit of bad taste.

And yes, "we're just like them". WE GET IT, YES.

It felt like this episode is setting up a Rick/Daryl conflict.

How does Rick wear that hatchet on his belt, facing forwards with the blade uncovered and not cut the shit out of his left hand all the time?

This was the best episode of the season, so far.

I don’t mean that as a compliment.

Valkane, thanks for making me laugh, that is an excellent point. I like how Rick often rests his very injured arm on that axe head sometimes though (poor guy's been shot AND stabbed in that shoulder).

I agree that Daryl and Rick will fight. Daryl usually talks Rick off the ledge...maybe it will be Rick's turn to help him.

Any time anyone on TWD is too confident or happy (like the King), we see their downfall. Think of everyone at the prison thrilled Herschal was up and around...immediately after that, scores of walkers appear. If the show takes a moment to breathe, disaster strikes.

What I hope going forward is the pace drops. These episodes were breakneck and too full of action, frankly. Only time for little punches of repetitive dialogue. They need to push deeper.

And my goodness...can we PLEASE get some backstory on Negan? I want to know who he IS. WHY he is. We had much more background on the Governor. I want the same for Negan.
