Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency: This Is Not Miami
November 26, 2017 4:50 PM - Season 2, Episode 7 - Subscribe
Lost in Wendimoor, Dirk has a crisis of confidence as he and Todd struggle with hostile natives; deadly misunderstandings; and very literally, evil knights.
Actually, I hope Bart kills all the bad people. It seems a weird thing but I miss her functioning as an assassin. I've loved her development but miss her killing hijinks.

I hope the next three episodes do a fairly decent job of showing and mixing/combining the characters in Wendimoor and Bergsberg.

[Someone]: Hold on! Dirk Gently? The man from the Prophecy? He exists?
Todd: He definitely does!
[Someone]: And this man, Toad...
Amanda: *quizzical expression, shrugs as if to say "yeah, that fits" *
[Someone]: ... says he can take us to him.
I like this show.

I had a lot of trouble getting into the first season ...couldn't get the tone.
Now I'm completely hooked. There's SERIOUSLY deep lore going on in this show.

Amanda Brotzman stealing the season here. I rewatched the last few episodes and just realized that Amanda says "I am not a witchakookoo, I am a freakin' person!" when she gets captured by the Kellam Knights, which makes her revelatory "I'm a freakin' witchakookoo!" in episode six ten times more awesome.
Mid-season here is much like season one, they're getting lost in the weeds but I assume the last couple of episodes will crush it.

I think of it as the late mid-season clusterfuck...it may not make sense now but it'll get cleared up in the last few eps of the season. Same thing happened in the first season. I don't hate it because it would piss me off if everything made sense to me at this point.
One thing I am loving this season is the meta commentary on Dirk's process.

Just realized that Emily Tennant, daughter of David Tennant, plays The Beast (the feral young woman who leashes Dirk). Also, she calls Dirk her "bibbit", which I'm guessing is a reference to Billy Bibbit in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, who was played by Brad Dourf, Fiona Dourif's dad.

Well that intro sequence was certainly overdue! I wonder if they had to fight vs. management to push it later in the show because it seems like something someone would have wanted way sooner. Okay, so boy's dreams become reality. Nice to know what's going on, even though we had an inkling before. Purple People Eater was a bit of a giveaway that these things were spawned from a kid's mind and not just being interpreted by one and drawn on a wall.
So there's another boy, which makes sense, since everything didn't disappear when Arnold died. I remember Arnold saying something about how it wasn't supposed to be real, etc. And was he blaming himself at one point? Perhaps Wendimoor are the stories he would tell his brother(?).
As soon as we found out there was another boy, we started to go through the characters we've seen so far who could be the boy. Hobbs is out (as much as I want him to be okay), as he's too young. Suzie's husband is out too. Then my wife said, "Who has been asleep all season?" and yeah, now it seems super obvious! No one else would have known Dirk to work him in to the prophecy.

Yep, this so much. The ballet of mishaps around her as she dispatches anyone and anything in her way is something I've been missing as well, even though we got a bit at the beginning.
I've really been enjoying the Wendimoorian insults though. "Dummy? Really?"

Oh, and it was nice seeing Suzie get cleaned up! All that glass in her face was making me antsy.

Just realized that Emily Tennant, daughter of David Tennant,
I don't think she's David Tennant's daughter. His kids are Olive, Wilfred, Ty, and a three year old daughter I couldn't find the name of.
And Emily Tennant is Canadian.

I really hope Bart is the one who kills Suzie.
As always, I need to rewatch before commenting further.
