The Librarians: And the Steal of Fortune
December 13, 2017 7:17 PM - Season 4, Episode 2 - Subscribe
When people begin getting hurt in the unluckiest of ways, the Librarians are led to a casino where the owner appears to possess an artifact capable of stealing people's luck. Despite falling under the bad luck curse themselves, the Librarians must turn the tables before the plague of bad fortune spreads to the wider world.
Richard Kind. Now that is how you properly utilize a guest star, they must be bringing John Noble back later.
It really threw me off at first, because I couldn't understand why they'd cast Richard Kind as a casino owning gangster. But it made sense in the end.
There's almost no way they don't bring back both Rachel Nichols and John Noble before the season is over.
I was gleeful when they overcame the bad luck both by mathematics and by tricking the universe by trying to punch the wrong person. Although in my experience the universe is not so easily fooled.

I liked this episode a lot better than the first one of the season - for reasons I'm not entirely able to express, something about the Big Bad Warehouse Library Threats just leave me cold. Smaller threats are great, but... I dunno, the Big Bad episodes always sort of feel like forced worldbuilding that they haven't justified other than saying it's so.
"Oh, here's this Guardian in the basement! She's done things that justify this, but we're just going to tell you about them *blah blah wockle blah*...." *sigh*
