Babylon 5: Survivors
February 11, 2018 12:09 PM - Season 1, Episode 11 - Subscribe

[skippable arc episode/almost standalone] Garibaldi's past catches up with him when he is framed for an assassination attempt on the President--and the lead investigator is an old family friend... "The Universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements: energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest."

-Garibaldi is an alcoholic who 'blew out' of his last few assignments because of it. After managing to stay sober, he was recruited by Sinclair to Babylon 5.
-The father of the investigator (who called him "Uncle Mike" at one point in her life) was killed because Garibaldi got in trouble with the mob and he was Garibaldi's best friend. Instead of dealing with the guilt and grief and the problem of nabbing his buddy's killers, he hit the bottle very hard.
-While on the run, Garibaldi briefly falls off the wagon. He's getting his metaphorical 1 day chip by the end of the episode.
-Someone wants President Santiago dead.
-Homeguard pops back up.
-There is nothing else going on.

As promised, a run of minor and/or mediocre episodes are all being posted on a single day.

This was mostly melodramatic and mediocre. Esp. the "Uncle Mike" stuff.

If this is your first time watching, you may have noticed that episodes with single-word titles tend to be bad and/or minor. This trend will continue!

For whatever reason it seems like the supporting talent available to this show was solidly 'meh' for at least the first season or so. Jurasik and Katsulas sell the scenery-chewing so well, and the rest of the cast is pretty good too, but times like this... oi!

I think the funniest thing about this episode to me was that while the major was opposing Garibaldi she always had her hair up, but once she acknowledged him it was down and soft focus.
