Deadwood: Season 1 (Full Season)   Rewatch
March 1, 2018 8:42 PM - Season 1 (Full Season) - Subscribe

1876: Set six months after the founding of a gold mining camp called 'Deadwood' in South Dakota, shortly after Custer's "Last Stand." The show follows individuals who are drawn to this place for a variety of reasons - some of whom leave, some who stay, and some who come back. The eponymous town itself grows, both in population and in history and complexity. The stage was set, the characters introduced; the season ends with chaos, an outside threat, and a promise for more character- and character-relationship development next season.

It's been a little over a year since the end of Season 1's re-watch. There was moderate interest.

Any further interest in a re-watch of S2? I'd be willing to do/share detailed recaps - although that might be really redundant for a show that premiered (oh, ... shit.) 14 years ago.

Let's get the joke about the actual title of the show being "Fucking Deadwood, Cocksucker" out of the way up front, shall we?

Thank you. Thank you very much.

Would you close your flap, that I don't forego my boiled eggs?

Sounds like we're doing this? I'll aim for one a week, dropping S02E01 in the next couple of days.

I have never been able to get more than four episodes in and then I'd give up watching, but I try every few years because a friend of mine was an extra in the second two seasons and I've always wanted to try spotting him (although I think he was pretty much never seen). Is there an episode where it truly catches your interest or if I haven't felt it by four I should just give up?

(For the record, I did the same thing with The Wire and The Sopranos, so there's definitely a precedent here.)
