I have to admit that I am worried for this show. It is good, but FX has shown a certain lack of patience with effects-heavy shows than can be...expensive.

The purifier storyline doesn’t make a lick of sense or have any consistency at all. So Jace reins them in after Mr 50 Cal wants to go shooting them up. Next purifier scene? They’re blowing up churches. _That’s_ winning the hearts and minds of mr and mrs pta?

Uh huh.

Oh good, after that Jace takes the heavily armed Purifiers to the hideout they ... somehow figured out the Mutants were smoked out to. And then a shootout happens.

Yes. Hearts and minds.

I'm sorta torn, the Inner Circle storyline, such as it is, is sort of interesting, although I'm getting sort of tired of Polaris channelling Claire from Lost. Maybe if she affected an Australian accent, the whole "my baaaaybieeeee" schtick would be truly solid...

The Mutant Underground and Our Heroes? Not so much.

From what I understand they're not claiming responsibility for the church bombing. Jace is not so naive to think that they can't get things done without some violence, but the bombing not harming anyone is a sign that he was the one in charge of it. But now they can rightly claim that they caught the fugitives.

I'm wanting to side more and more with the Inner Circle, especially after the flashbacks of the Frost Sisters. So far, even though they act ruthless, it might turn out that Lorna and Esme will guide them to be more benevolent than Reeva seems to be. Of course it remains to be seen how Rebecca's psychopathy will come out and how it will affect them.

I worry for Reed. His powers might really screw things up.

Okay, after reading this, I revoke my "good" and substitute "enjoyable".

I don't really consider using your powers to kill and escape from your captors/torturers to be 'psychopathy'.

the psychiatrist, Dr. Taylor, mentioned that she killed her whole family with that power, and she definitely was enjoying messing with the cops

We don't know why she killed her family. Many mutants kill people by accident when their powers manifest.
And she enjoyed messing with the cops' car instead of turning them inside out.

Yeah, I'm specifically hoping they don't go with a 'Rebecca is secretly ax crazy' thing on the basis of the cop scene. (The nurse might have been kind, but her perspective on the situation is definitely slanted. I mean, mine would be too, if I'd seen what she did.)

I was exepcting Esme to say something to Lorna about how even though her baby was too young for words, she could feel the love she has for her mother. I mean if you're going to wander into a baby's head, you might as well get something out of it and deliver a message to the parent.

I think they kind of cheated the audience by implying that the tunnel was a safe way out--one that the Protectors wouldn't know about or guard--yet apparently a whole bunch of mutants were captured. How? Did the Protectors subdue them, tie them up and leave them for the authorities? Did the authorities come running when they heard the fire fight? And how did the members of the Mutant Underground rescue mission escape?

you mean Purifiers? yeah I assume they just tied all the captured mutants up at gun point and didn't wanna waste more time going after the main ones who are more powerful and know how to fight. Jace has faced them before and he's smart enough to know when to take a win.

Yup, Purifiers, not Protectors. I swear I actually know the name of the group, or at least my head does even if my fingers don't once they hit the keyboard.
