I thought this was low-key terrific. Not super ambitious, not super heavy handed but with a clear agenda that is feminist, pro worker, and acknowledges the realities of race in the US. Regina Hall was excellent and Shayna McHale is super charismatic and compelling.

The director, Andrew Bujalski, was one of the key figures in the mid-2000s "mumblecore" movement

Yeah, this felt like a "little" indie movie in the classic way. It was just a simple story simply told, but it was done very well. I enjoyed watching it and Regina Hall is incredible in it. Overall, though, I mostly forgot about it after it ended.

It's still one I'd recommend, though.
