We've been through a lot together, American Horror Story, but if you hurt Ma Petite, we are DONE.

When Mamie Gummer was on the stairs pleading with her dad, I was struck how much she looked and sounded like her mother,

I was gonna say-there are a lot of freaks that could be murdered, but if Ma Petite gets hurt, IT IS OVER.

My wife was perilously close to real tears at the thought of Ma Petite being formaldehyded.

Recaps are up! (I was feeling a bit poorly, hence the delay)

Here's an interesting interview with Mat Fraser, who plays Paul the Illustrated Seal Boy. I thought those tattoos were real!

Also I got the Meryl Streep daughter wrong -- it's Grace, not Mamie.

I'm still mulling over the episode (mulling the episode over?) but here's a heads up: a search for Mat Fraser will end up being very NSFW.

That Mat Fraser interview is outstanding. He's really intelligent. I've often wondered what the feel is like on set between the actors playing the freaks, the non-disabled actors, and the crew. On one hand, I'd like to think that everyone is a professional and that all involved are treated like equals. But bits like this give a sense that there have to be some pretty complicated emotions roiling underneath:

I had some misgivings at the beginning. Like, “Really, four lines?” While I watched Evan Peters and these people do these big, long speeches about how people don’t understand what it’s like to be a freak—I don’t know if I can handle this. I had a very intense conversation with the writing team pretty early on in the process and basically I stuck my neck out—I could’ve been sacked for this—but I sort of worked it out how I felt.

I wonder if they'd consider signing Mat Fraser on for another season to play "the father, the neighbor, the judge"? It was really surprising when Jamie Brewer returned for Coven in a role that did not highlight her Down's Syndrome. I don't think that anyone in Coven even mentioned that her character had Down's Syndrome, did they? It would be great to have them do the same for Mat Fraser. (Hmm, wikipedia says that Jamie Brewer will be in some upcoming episodes of Freak Show. I didn't know that.)

Thanks, psho. But, blah, those videos aren't available outside of the US.

Oh no! Can you use a proxy or something like Hola?

I usually use Hola, but I haven't been able to get it to work since I updated Firefox. I've been too busy to give it the attention it apparently needs in order to fix it, but I'll try soon!
