That was a weird episode, even given the baseline weird levels we are dealing with in the Land of Ooo. I was kind of glad the show had seemed to put the whole Finn/Flame Princess/Princess Bubblegum triangle behind itself, so I'm not super thrilled we are delving back into Finn's love life. I am glad he got his fightin' arm back, though.

Also, Did Finn and Lumpy Space Princess do it?

If there's any character on this show who would even know what "doing it" is, it would probably be LSP, but then again who even knows what "doing it" means for Lumpy Space people.

I liked Breezy's magical girl transformation sequence.

I feel like Finn might lose his arm again.

I liked that bee. I think that's my favorite bee in all of fiction. (Wikipedia has a helpful list, of course.)

Just realized there was a bee puppet in the episode with Jake's tail.

I liked the subtext of the episode which to me seemed to be about the pitfalls of using other people. Kissing all the princesses wasn't really helping Finn solve his issues. Then it opened the door for LSP to get maybe a little too forceful with Finn. Breezy in her way was using Finn for his flower arm until she developed feelings for him on accident.

"Don't worry Finn... I'm a lifeguard."

YES!! I was flipping my lid about this.

It was rather nice that they left it ambiguous, although upon reflection I'm not sure they could've done it any other way. I mean, they can't really spell it out, can they?

That's why the flower worked so well as a metaphor, IMHO. I'm sure they're playing with well-known tropes like "de-flowering" and "blossoming into adulthood".

Plus Finn's arm growing back could even be read as a phallic symbol.

I love this show!

I loved Finn's depressed walk.

I'm tending to think that LSP and Finn did not have sex, as they would have at least been asleep next to each other in a universal "Informed peeps will immediately understand what happened but innocent kids will just see them sleeping next to each other" type of thing.

I will definitely agree that it wasn't just a smooch like the other make out sessions.

I liked Breezy's magical girl transformation sequence.

That was awesome.

If we want to go with the theme of sex and what not, one might be able to construe Breezy's consumption of the royal jelly as her giving up her maidenhood for Finn. She does it, and is transformed from just a girl bee into a woman. She holds the act as very important, a big deal, but Finn kind of blows it off. (as an aside to above, it's after this happens that Finn's arm returns, not after LSP's aquatic rescue adventure).

What kind of struck me is Jake's continual insistence on not really trying to help Finn out. Be the tower episode, "He just needs to work it out," to this episode, where he basically acts like nothing is happening - despite his best friend dragging his head around on the ground as he walks. Jake has always been played off as the more mature of the two, but his treatment of Finn's condition has at least visibly been terrible.

I'm curious if there will be any blow back on Finn from his multiple "make out" sessions with the different princesses from this episode. I'd love to see him have to deal with this potential obstacle course of learning that you can't just use others to try and make yourself feel better.

The episode was pretty damn crazy, but I loved it.

Yeah, but I can see the Cartoon Network censors objecting even to them waking up side-by-side.

yeah this was pretty thick, I had to keep reminding myself that "Well, it's actually a bee... and finn does have a flower as a hand"

Yet another great ep!

It was a wonderful running gag of Breezy being a bit embarrassed when her fascination with the flower kept drawing her into Finn's world of problems.
