I'm probably a monster but the "White Wedding" cue made me laugh so hard I had to pause the show for a minute.

Some kind of supernatural time travel/ghost activity seems to be a thing here. The Night Stalker's victim (and Mr. Jingles' victim it would seem?) didn't realize it was 1984, or indeed that he was dead. Is it really 1984 at all? Could the counselors already be dead and reenacting some drama endlessly? It sounds a little convoluted even by AHS standards, but...no, actually, that sounds pretty much normal for this show.
