American Horror Story: Episode 100
October 24, 2019 2:18 PM - Season 9, Episode 6 - Subscribe

A Very Special Episode in which many random people are gruesomely murdered, Billy Idol is teased for a future appearance (seriously, do not let me down here), and a man is possessed by Satan after apparently stroking out on the toilet; so, actually, a Pretty Much Normal Episode of AHS.

*I expected a more significant time jump than just to 1989, but I suspect we'll get a present day epilogue.

*Nice Trump fakeout during the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous sequence (a real show, millennials!). Margaret owns Briarcliff! Obviously it falls into some pretty serious disrepair between this season and Asylum (circa 2013); not terribly surprising, since Margaret almost certainly doesn't live to see 1990.

*Obviously Richard Ramirez did not, in reality, escape prison with the assistance of Satan (or otherwise). But much of the rest of what we see from him in this episode is true. Minus the presence of the fictional Mr. Jingles, the scene in which Ramirez is recognized and subdued by everyday citizens is pretty accurate, right down to Ramirez getting struck with an iron bar. Ramirez would also go on to romance a few women by mail after his incarceration. He would marry Doreen Lioy in 1996, while he was still in prison (where he remained until his death, from lymphoma, in 2013). Lioy is probably the woman seen here.

Of all the unlikely coincidences, supernatural events, and wide open plot holes over the nine seasons of AHS, what is most impossible to believe is that California would execute an inmate in only five years. Oklahoma doesn't even work that fast!
