Pamela B. Green's energetic film about pioneer filmmaker Alice Guy-Blaché is both a tribute and a detective story, tracing the circumstances by which this extraordinary artist faded from memory and the path toward her reclamation.

I really liked this movie. It's the first thing I've watched in weeks that I didn't feel the need to look at my phone. It moves fast, doesn't waste any time and is visually engaging. Learning about the very beginnings of the film industry was really interesting.

I watched it on TCM but it's also available on Prime.
