Kung Fu Monkey - LEVERAGE #212 "Zanzibar Marketplace Job" Post-Game:
"The ending, btw, with Sterling joining Interpol, was not the original ending. The script ends with Sterling being interviewed on the BBC and hailed as a "modern-day Sherlock Holmes". While the episode was shooting, Dean and I were on a ridiculously late-night Skype call discussing the season finale. We were breaking both episodes, trying to nail down the Authority Figure.
Me: "We have to introduce this guy, establish him as a threat, and put him into play .... Gahhh."
Dean: "You know, this would be a lot easier if it were Sterling,"
Me: "Yeah, but we can't just make Sterling Interpol. (beat) Can we?"
Dean: "Why can't we?"
Me: "Are we doing this because it's a good idea or because it's late?"
Dean: "BOTH!""

(I miss The Middleman.)
I remember when this episode was first broadcast, the TNT promo monkeys managed to completely spoil the episode. For some bizarre reason, they seemed to think they needed to run a promo for the episode during the episode -- like, not a promo for next week's episode, or a promo for some other TNT show, they somehow thought that a TV viewer needed a promo in the final commercial break of the show to entice them to watch the ending? So in the commercial break after Nate, Maggie, and Lundy are stuck in the elevator with the bomb, they run a promo of the scene of Parker retrieving the bomb. Bonkers infuriating. This wasn't the first time the promo department made a fuck-up, but this was the most egregious one, and I think some heads finally rolled after this to get them to knock it the hell off.

I miss The Middleman
Will have to check out!
I thought I remembered Lundy (Matt Keeslar) - he was a creepy client in an early 'Dollhouse' episode. Had completely forgot he played Feyd-Rautha in the SyFy (was it SyFy by then?) 'Dune' (which I have queued up along with 'Children' for a rewatch).
I also liked Brit Morgan from 'True Blood' and Natalie Morales from 'White Collar' and 'Parks and Rec.'
Making Sterling get appointed to InterPol was some seriously rich gravy to pour on.

Huh, 5 minutes into the pilot, I totally did watch 'The Middleman' when it came out. Remember, now, loving it and being bummed that it was cancelled after a single season. That's probably where I remember Keeslar from, then. Definitely watching through it again.
