When foreman Frank shows new employee Freddy a secret military experiment in a supply warehouse in Louisville, Kentucky, the two klutzes accidentally release a gas that reanimates corpses into flesh-eating zombies. As the epidemic spreads throughout the town, and the creatures satisfy their hunger in gory and outlandish ways, Frank and Freddy fight to survive with the help of their boss and a mysterious mortician.

This is one of my favorite horror comedies, besides Shaun of the Dead and Re-Animator.

TIL that there is a thrash band called "Send More Paramedics".

"All skeletons come from India!"

For all her punk rock deathwish bullshit, it was still tough watching Trash go out like that. What a fuckin' movie, man.

I watched this movie at a sleepover when I was young enough that it gave me nightmares for weeks. Re-watching as an adult was interesting, predictably much less scary but much more hilarious a movie than I had constructed in my mind. In my head cannon version Freddy had killed one of the others and was covered in blood from eating brains when going after Tina at the end, honestly a bit disappointed this wasn’t the way it played out.

Throwing serious mental side-eye at whatever adult okayed this as acceptable viewing for a bunch of eleven year olds way back when. The eighties sure were a different time.

I can't express how packed the theater, how riotous the laughter, this was when I saw it at a midnight screening back then.

I still think "Send More Paramedics" is right up there with "They're Coming to Get You Barbara!" as one of the greatest lines *ever* from any Zombie film.

This movie was pretty formative for fourteen-year-old me in all kinds of ways.

Fifteen year old me dropped way too much acid right before watching this movie for the first time. I was pretty much catatonic from the opening credits until well into the following day. Just sat on the couch tapping my finger and staring into the beyond while all my teenage punk rock buddies came and went and ate all the food in my mom’s freezer. Definitely my favorite zombie movie.

I'll never forget seeing this for the first time when I was about sixteen. I was completely stunned by the ending, and then I just burst out laughing. Just a genius ending, like if Douglas Adams wrote a horror movie.

I just used "SEND MORE COPS" when someone posted a skull-oriented something the other day. Such an instantly classic line.
