I spent a lot of this movie thinking these kids are dicks. No evidence was presented to change my mind. Though this was the last movie I saw in a theater pre-COVID, so that might unfairly tarnish my opinion of it.

It was not that hard to see that the kids were gaslighting her. Really lost steam after the opening. Not at all the equal of Goodnight Mommy.

I enjoyed that the end result of the film was “hey kids, don’t gaslight the wrong person.” It was both horrifying and satisfying in a fucked-up way.

On HBO/Max at the moment. The really odd thing in this is how strongly it wanted us to notice that they were watching The Thing just before the gasheaterlighting started; and, well, okay. cold and isolated and people are not what they appear, fine, but mostly it made me think "I could be watching The Thing right now and having a much better time."
