Harley Quinn: Season 2
March 13, 2021 4:30 PM - Season 2 (Full Season) - Subscribe

Harley Quinn has taken down the Joker and Gotham City is finally hers for the taking...whatever's left of it that is. Gotham has become a desolate wasteland, left in ruins, following the huge earthquake caused by the collapse of Joker's tower. Harley's celebration in this newly created chaos is cut short when Penguin, Bane, Mr. Freeze, The Riddler and Two Face join forces to restore order in the criminal underworld. Calling themselves the Injustice League, this group now stands in the way of Harley and her crew from taking sole control of Gotham as the top villains of the city.

This came out in mid-2020 but nobody made a Fanfare post about it, for some reason. Perhaps people have thoughts?

I posted about season one. The discussion devolved very quickly, so I figured someone else could do it this time. Have fun!

My wife and I completely enjoyed this show and are glad it's moving to HBO Max for Season 3.

Harley Quinn has supplanted the DCAU in my mind as the “real” DC continuity. Can’t wait for more!

Darkseid was my favorite thing about this season. I don't know much about his place in the real DC universe other than he seems all powerful and his name is deceptively pronounced. But seeing him grumble over a smartphone call was hilarious. Do they really call them "boom tubes"? Like, after the 1970s?

I'm very intrigued where they're gonna go next season.

Is Doctor Psycho permanently out of the crew? Will Sy get his body back? If not, that seems like two roles they need to backfill. (Though Sy just being a blender or whatever might not be a big reduction in screentime)

This season had a cathartic end to Harley and Ivy's arc (hence the "The End") but they could certainly continue to explore how that relationship progresses. So many characters are either killed or transformed though, I wonder who they'll bring on next.

I only just saw this thread after I came on FanFare to assert that Zack Snyder's Justice League was an inferior take on the DC Universe to Harley Quinn. I have thoughts! This show is awesome!! The only show that I've binged in its entirety twice since the pandemic started, since it's both so short and so addictive. I absolutely love how irreverent this show is toward the DC Cinematic Universe, and its citizen gatekeepers.

I would never have expected an animated DC show to have the hero just straight up kill the Penguin—after biting his nose off.

I'm surprised by how relieved I was that Sy wasn't dead dead, and pleased by the breakneck pace they used to go through other villains. (Honestly -- why keep Penguin or Mr Freeze alive?? What they did with them was much better.) This show is such a delight.

I think season 3 premieres at midnight West Coast time tonight! There's a Twitter Watch Party tomorrow night, though I have no real idea what that entails.
